Isn't this lounge beautiful? James Perse, usually known for his incredibly casual clothing line is now doing furniture! I love the clean lines of this chaise, how it's low to the ground and just perfect to be laying out by the pool eating my ice cream cone cupcakes! I wish bikini weather would hurry and get here!

Ice Cream or Cake?
Isn't this a brilliant idea? I'm sure this has been done before and Northern Soul Cupcakes are not the first or last to bake a cake inside an ice cream cone, but as I'm sitting at my desk relaxing after lunch, this sweet treat looks pretty divine! I really need to do major research on this and find out how this is done properly because I want to make them this summer. How cute would it be to show up to a Memorial Day picnic with a tray of these? Kind of like having your cake and ice cream together, but not as messy! Speaking of cake, I'm going up to NYC to visit my dear friend who recently moved there for a job. We are going to see Erick Morillo play for his birthday party Friday and one of my favorite people from El Paso just happens to be in the city that day as well! Talk about killing three birds with one stone!

Vintage Tea
I have to say, it was a rather successful trip to the antique shop today. I took a trip down the street to Old Town Ellicott City, which is a cute part of town loaded with antique shops, restaurants and tons of people on the weekend. I found a large antique shop and started scanning all the nooks and crannies of the store for just the right teacup. First, I found this lovely teapot and I thought to myself "well I can't exactly pour tea without a proper teapot!" So I picked it up. It's circa 1940's gorgeous and in excellent condition. After rummaging through the 17,000 square foot store, main floor, downstairs and upstairs, I finally came across this incredible teacup. It's special because it was made by Paragon by appointment for the Queen's coronization in 1953. The picture below details the writing on the back. I immediately fell in love.

Time for Tea
{ Harpers Bazaar Russia, April 2010 }
I'm trying to give up coffee. Really, I am. I know I said this before, but .... well it just smells and taste so good, it's hard to resist. Someone told me that if you replace one cup of coffee with a cup of tea, then gradually work your way up to only tea, you can quit. So I'm going to try. I think if I had darling teacups like these to drink my tea out of, I'd be more inclined to switch as well. I see antique shopping in my near future!

Bright Days Ahead
So, this is kind of fun... I got my first blog award from a fellow blogger! YAY! A special thank you goes out to the lovely Mrs. D over at the Pink Lemonade Blog for the gracious honor of the Sunshine Award. Check out her blog, she is in the midst of an incredible makeover of what seems to be every room in her house and is keeping us abreast of all the progress. It's pretty amazing. My favorite part is the dining room. OH and the fireplace makeover too.
AND THE BIG NEWS TODAY IS...... the Garden Collection at H&M FINALLY dropped in stores this week! So yes, I was there yesterday buying half the line! I stuck to my rule and stayed away from the party dresses (because I have too many that never get worn) and only bought stuff for casual summer days. I hope this weekend is as amazingly beautiful as last weekend so I can wear some of the stuff! Here's a taste of what I bought:

Mexican Fiesta
Saturday I went to my friends house for a Mexican Fiesta BBQ. It was amazing weather, first night I was able to enjoy being outside after sundown. Of course there were margaritas, sangria, and tequila shots, candy bracelets and twisty straws! If you know me, you know that I DO NOT drink tequila, so the picture above is a bit misleading, I was really just instigating by pouring the shots for everyone else. I only had a tiny taste for the toast... and left before the pinata took a proper beating as you can see above. Saludos!

Glorious Monday
So my weekend was pretty spectacular to say the least. I should have pictures soon. I hope. Friday night, after seeing my friend Lee Kalt spin at Current in DC, I was introduced to what is by far the BEST burger place in ... well .... possibly the entire world! Rogue States, on Connecticut Avenue is burger heaven!! I got the Truffle Oil Burger and each bite was like a mini food orgasm. I'm not sure I will ever be able to eat a burger from anywhere else now because nothing will ever compare and I'm not about to slum it with something sub par like McDonalds, or even homemade. Speaking of homemade, I wonder if I can recreate the flavor myself?? A little bit of fresh thyme, sprinkle in some truffle oil OH and possibly some truffle salt and Viola?? I'll keep you posted.

{ see the entire shoot here - caution, nudity }
I don't think I've bored you with how much I love Kate Moss yet this month so here you go!! I love her. These shots are just breathtaking and the color of that water .... makes me want to jump right in sans clothing too! We've been having insanely beautiful weather here in the Baltimore/DC area and I'm really looking forward to a great weekend with friends! Tonight, out in DC to see a friend spin at Current and tomorrow evening a BBQ at another friends house. First BBQ of the season! Guess it's that time of year...

Toooosday
{ via cobrasnake & home sweet home }
I'm looking for new artwork for the apartment. There are a few walls that need redoing - including over the couch. Hmm. I'm trying to get inspired, but, so far nothing. I'm trying to mix vintage and modern, we have this lovely vintage couch and I'm looking for a modern glass/steel coffee table, so I might want to balance it out with some massive modern photograph or art on canvas. We'll see.

Marc Jacobs likes making my dreams come true! The Louis Vuitton show today was a full on 50's revival of LADYLIKE dresses, skirts, pumps, ponytails and clean faces. I can not wait to see all the runway pictures, but I snagged this one from Grazia's twit pics, they just shot it. Amazingness!! Thank you Mr. Jacobs.

And On A Side Note...
{ via MorbidFashion }
The Roommate: "So when you got your wisdom teeth out did you get to keep them?"
Me: "NO! Why the F would they give me the teeth?"
The Roommate: "They gave me mine back. I have all four!"
Me: "In your room right now?"
The Roommate: "Yep!"
Me, in my mind: 'What the hell, is he going to make a voodoo necklace with them or something?'
The Roommate: "I thought one day I might want to a voodoo necklace or something" (he was joking of course)
Me: "Holy shit that's exactly what I thought you were going to say!"
OR you could just make THESE rings!! Um, really??

Benefit has a new blush out and it was one of my "not on the list" purchases from Sephora yesterday. It is by far one of my favorite blushes I have found. Yes, even better than NARS Super Orgasm. (note to the male readers, yes that IS the name of the color) ANYWAYS, it's the perfect blend of pink, peachy, plum, bronze and gives me an awesome color that is not too bronzy, which I think a lot of blushes with bronzer in them tend to do. Bleh. I highly suggest it for your next purchase because I think it works on most skin types!

No, You Will Not be Forever 21
{ via FashionGoneRogue }
Today I had to go to Sephora, which is never a store you can get in and out of with JUST the item you went for. No no. Two extra items and $90 later (good thing I had a gift certificate) I have officially dubbed Sephora "The $100 Store." It's good though, you get a makeup artist and leave looking really pretty! SO THEN, I popped in Forever 21. Why? Because, they ALWAYS have cute things. I've ALWAYS found several cute tops or a dress or jacket that I can work into my wardrobe. Well guess what? Apparently at 32 you can no long do that in Forever 21. Why? Because you are NOT 21. And not that I want to be the dreaded 21 again. No NO NO! But I wanted a cute top and guess what? I was the oldest shopper in there besides the Moms! Wow. All this, and their line has all of a sudden taken a decidedly younger approach, maybe they should call it Forever 18, because not even 21 year olds should really be wearing 90% of the stuff I saw in there. Lordy! I escaped as soon as I could with some cute necklaces. So, now I'm a bit sad. I'm not ready to be a stuffy Ann Taylor woman. What am I going to wear?

60's Siren
{ via }
Terry Tsiolis for Russian Vogue is making me quite happy this Sunday! Wow, I can't even imagine the hours of teasing that went into getting hair that high! Ladies in the 60's must have spent so much time getting ready in the morning just to get that hair, especially considering the "bump it" didn't come around till a few years ago! I need walls this pink and I need the butterfly for my hair. Just a few things I'm taking note of for the coming Spring. I'm glad to see hair ornaments are making a big comeback. And NO I'm not joking either, I seriously need a cute butterfly for my hair!

The Age of Pisces
It's always fun when the girls get together for cocktails and chatter and even more fun when it's to celebrate a birthday! Last week we all got together at Pazo in Baltimore to celebrate one of the girls' birthdays. These pictures are evidence of the cocktail enhanced festivities and if you go there I can highly recommend the Pear & Rosemary Martini and the Cucumber infused Gimlet. Gin is becoming a new fave of mine. It's so retro in a way. This celebration also got me thinking, it turns out I have several girlfriends who are Pisces and I love them each dearly in their own special way. Especially the Bestie whose birthday is this coming weekend!! Wish I could be there to help her celebrate.

I'm Back!
So, I had all four of my wisdom teeth taken out on Friday - yep, ALL four! I'm dying, and not only just from the pain, but from the pain of NOT being able to eat whatever I want!! I stayed at my parents all weekend which was nice because it gave my Mom a chance to baby me like she loves doing but get this, what do they get from THEIR dinner on Friday night?? Um, McDonalds!! Good thing I was doped up that I saw the bag and then just passed out so I didn't have to drool or faint from the smells of those delicious calories. So, now it's Monday and I've had nothing but pudding, jello (which I hate by the way), applesauce and sherbert. As soon as I'm able, and it better be SOONER rather than later, I plan to stuff my face with cheeseburgers, fries, pizza, chips and salsa, filet mignon that has been stuffed with blue cheese, brie on toast points, fajitas and possibly even make that overdue chicken enchilada casserole with the last of my green chile I have on stock! I deserve it, I've been starving for DAYS!
