Four Eyes

Today is about embracing imperfection. I don't have 20/20 vision. Funny thing is, I used to, and when I was younger I faked having bad vision so that I could get a pair of glasses. I was convinced they were the coolest thing ever. I got glasses, and the bad vision that came with "faking" it. So, years later, wearing glasses became un-cool, and I started wearing contacts. This year though, with the onslaught of fabulous retro-like specs, I have embraced wearing my glasses more often. I am wearing them today. I am less than perfect. ~Tomasina

A Perfect Mix

Call me crazy, but I never jumped on the "Alexa Chung is the most fabulous person in the world" bandwagon, however I can and will admit that she does throw together some great outfits.  This one, in particular, I am totally in love with.  The flowing, silk blouse mixed with cutoff jean shorts is total perfection.  It is the end of July and I STILL cannot find the right pair of jean shorts.  My hunt continues...  

It's A Heat Wave

It is oppressively hot all over the nation as we are experiencing record temperatures pretty much no matter where you live.  How are you staying cool?  How about taking note from Spanish Dames, Japanese Geishas, Marie Antoinette or Karl Lagerfeld and carry a fan?  Remember way back in the day when Karl wouldn't be seen without his trademark black fan?  That was such awesomeness.  I cleaned out a drawer this weekend and found my collection of fans and decided to make use of them as even the AC in my apartment just wasn't doing the job.  I think I'll be carrying one in my bag for the rest of the Summer.  Let's start a trend.

On a sad side note, I can't find this lovely caftan I'm wearing in this picture.  I'm heartbroken.

Casual Chic

Grey Matter

I have been wanting to talk about this for some time. I wanted to wait until the colorful days of summer had passed. Lately, I have been in a very grey mood and so I figured it was time. Have you been asking yourself, what is Greige? It’s a combination, apparently, of gray and beige (and maybe even some taupe thrown in). I like it. In fact, I have a bottle of OPI’s You Don’t Know Jacques from last fall. However, this fall I will not be wearing it on my toes. I am going to go out on a limb, and choose classic red for my fall pedicures. What’s old is new again…..

Fall Classics Revisited

The August 2010 issue of US Vogue has really gotten me quite excited for Fall.  Ugh, I know, I know it's too early to talk about, but we are inundated with Fall clothes in the fashion spreads this time of year.  Perhaps to warn us of the upcoming beauty so we can save money for the Fall purchases?  Needless to say, these are two outfits I will be pulling major inspiration from for my Fall wardrobe this year.  Nothing gets me more exited than a secretary blouse and suddenly boring brown doesn't seem so boring anymore.

Reece Hudson Edge

I know I have mentioned before how I love to mix things up in my wardrobe.  High fashion with low fashion, sweet and girlie with a hint of hard edge, structured yet feminine.  Taking this in mind, it should be easy for you to understand my excitement when I came across the new handbag designer Reece Hudson.  A brand new company that began in 2009, Reece takes street style inspiration, high end fabrics, leather, and skins and turns them into major works of art.  The result is a classically structured, beautifully detailed handbag with a bit of edge.  This is an up-and-coming designer I can't wait to see more of.  Buy them here.
